I have always fogged my polaris and ran stabil in the gas tank, i read that the john deeres give off some stuff from the plastic and i was wondering what you guys do, I have heard if you just run it out of gas the little bit left (epecially in the carb and fuel lines) will varnish and cause lots of trouble. Maybe run stabil, fog it and then just empty the tank?
Many new and used parts available, I ship anywhere. Thanks everyone.

Store out of sunlight ( not just under a canvas) Don't let track set on dirt or grass, ( But not so high that the fuel gravity feeds into the crankcase ) I would fill fuel tank with good gas ( NOT mixed with ethanol ) add stabil, with engine running make sure the stabil gets into the carbs, then using a oil can squirt 2-stroke oil into carbs flooding engine with oil until stopped the more the better..

I agree with most of this but Im not a huge fan of stabil perhaps it does work better on a full tank than just a few gallons. On my walbro sleds I dont really do anything I prefer to just start them once a month or so in the off season to keep the carb gaskets/daiphram from drying out.

Everyone has their own ideas, and that is fine. I prefer to store the sleds dry.
Especially with increasing chances of having ethanol in the mix.
Run the carb dry, pump out the tank....of course I may not get around to doing this until July....

I agree starting the sleds every month, getting the engine warm, running up to engage the clutch, turning the clutches, belt, gears, chain, bearings,& track is the best method, but not everyone has the room to store sleds & be able to get at them to run them after there stored away..
LOL, I didn't say that I stored my sleds the other way, LOL it was ment to be an option..

Just another opinion here, and we all know what opinions are like, right?
I use Seafoam. run em all winter with it in em and then make darn sure there is some in the tank when I put them away. I also use Non-Oxegenated gas in the old sleds I run, they aren't all JD's . Store em full or partial tank, doesn't seem to matter. Haven't had a probelm with em since I started using it.
Later,
Kenny
