74 Sno-Twister

Post by jdsledhead »

Hey guys, I just bought a 74 Sno-Twister today. It has the 400cc free air motor with the "starburst" looking heads. It is all original and in great shape, will run with fresh gas, etc. Has the twin carbs, with screens still on them, twin pipes, comet clutch, etc. What is a beast like this worth?

Twisters were very hot on the market a couple of years ago. Some fetching 8K. They have cooled down some but still very sought after.

I have talked to Chuck, he is very helpful as usual. It appears I have the least desirable model/year. Its only worth a measily 1000-1400 in current form. :)

Yeah, I talked to the original owner, he said that he bought this one new, and the next year bought a 75 sno-twister to go with it. ( I cant remember the cc of it) So he named them the twisted sisters as he drag raced both sleds. He said they were used mostly in grass and frozen dirt, not much ice running.
I got it running the other day, it has the wrong belt on it, but even so it still hauled a$$!! and its loud, louder than I thought it would be since the pipes do go into a can, and are not just straight stingers.
