When I see that engine, the only thought that comes to mind is "Marlboro Red, Marina Blue...just begging to be plucked. I'd just blast down to Palm Springs, instantly feeling better about being me." Oh, and "The '67 GT500....Donny, the GT 500...Yeah, yeah I got it Memphis." You've got 1 of the 2 cars most mustang fans can only dream about. I didn't read the title of your post, I just opened the first picture, saw the 428 Cobra Jet and ran for a towel to wipe up my drool. The Mach 1's and the Carrol Shelby GT's are in my opinion, the best and coolest cars Ford ever built. You've got a beautiful car! There are 2 '09 GT remakes here in Brainerd, 1 is Red/Black and 1 is Black/silver. They don't hold a candle to an original '67-'69 fastback. I just make a wish every morning that the GT500E on the picture in my living room will someday materialize in my garage.

Might be a bit of a tangent but. I really love the Mercury Cyclone's 67 - 69, best part is you can still have the 428 SCJ but at big cost savings. I hunt with a guy that had a 66 with the 390 4bb and posi, he kicks himself everyday for getting rid of the car. Worst part is he traded a 55 chev 2dr HT on it.

2 more. second photo is the same quarter as the above postings 1st photo. The car is absolutely rust free, just had 40 yrs of door dings, so I used a little Evercoat glazing fill. I block sanded that car for weeks getting it flat for House of Kolor black and 5 coats Clear.

Are you adopting? Seriously.

That is one NICE looking "project." I can hear your son in a few years "Dad, can I borrow the car?"
