Japanese Gremlins

Post by JDT »

Here is a good one...

With the key on run I have spark on only one side. Turn the key off and I have spark on both sides.

Key switch test good as does the kill switch.

Incase it matters...74 JDX8 w/KEC440-22 engine

If it's connected properly, and the switch is good, all I can think of is a bad ground. With the switch "OFF" the mag has to be grounded out! Something is not right ( like you needed me to tell you that  )

I ran into an engine just like this many years ago.
If memory serves it was a bad condensor but the mind has started to run amuck at times.
I will be back at this one in a couple of days but working on the 75 400 right now.
Will let you know.
