New to all of this - sort of

Post by jester »

Hey...Great site you have here!!

I had a JD 300 back in 74 when I was 12...wonderful sled!! It's been a few years and I have been half way around the world and back and I just happen to pick up 2 JDX4's on ebay tonight...Started looking around for information and stumbled into all of you!!! What a lucky day for me! I think 2009 is headed in the right direction.
I won't get my hands on the sleds until later this week, but they appear to be in decent shape and for $135.00 a piece, I don't think I went wrong.. Ought to be fun riding again!

Welcome Jester
There is something to be said about bringing these ole John Deere sleds back to life. It's a rewarding feeling when you finish a project. My wife thinks I have a JD snowmobile addiction, haha, I think she's right

The guys on this site are great and there is a lot of history here.
Happy Sledding,
Scott

I have added a couple more sleds to the pile...a 75 JDX6 and a 76 Liquifire 340...I ordered a SM2100 manual today from the John Deere Dealer...I bought the CD version..It should be delivered in about a week...Cost about $42.00 - just an FYI

I appreciate everyone's help and enthusiasm...even in June you can't stop a Deere!!!

Welcome Jester,

Yes, My wife was after me again saying I'm addicted to JD snowmobiles...... it started with a 595X diesel rider, then the 4600 tractor loader, then the John deere 244J wheeled loader, etc...... I'm sorry....... If John deere kept building sleds, they probably would be the best, since they do not like taking 2nd place at building anything else..... just my .02
