Kevin (kwc) thinks the hood is salvageable. The instrument panel is not but I'd like to try to get one with the "John Deere" logo on it first. What we REALLY need from you will be the TPR/side panels. Kevin says not to worry about the color matching, he'll just paint them to match the tunnel and hood. Let me or Kevin know as soon as you have a pair available. Nice work Marshall!! Da

Guys, this tunnel is in great shape and the hood just has one crack on the left side (about 2" long) that will need to be repaired.

Marshall, thank you for your help on the side panels!

Here is what I brought back from Don's last Wednesday, I am really looking forward to getting started on the clean up and paint.

Hi Roger - long time, no talk.....I hope everything is good down in the greater Coloma area. If you wouldn't mind helping me with clean up and decal removal, I sure would appreciate it. Anybody that lives in the southwest Michigan area and would like to join us, send me an email and we can work out the schedule.

Thank you

Kevin

If it works out for Roger or others to come over please take pictures. Eventually we'll have a disc available with all pictures and I suppose a disc will go with the sled. Same holds true for PJ, Brian, anyone else working on projects, take pictures and send them to me. Da

Hey PJ,

I am going to donate either the best set of used sprockets I have, or NOS ones if I can find a pair of them. Thanks for posting pic's. Your clutch parts are going out this week.

Don: I thought I got a huge b-day present from you last week. NOPE! It was the suspension for the Sporty. One rail was bured through, so I am going to supply an NOS skid for the sled.

As of today, the seat was shipped to John's and parts were shipped to Roger (Jekyll) Jordan for cleaning and painting. Joe R continues to overwhelm me with his generosity. I'll post all of the items that he's donating as soon as I get the list made.

On my priority list for today are the skis. Would someone be interested in doing them? Here's the current status:

The right ski is straight, the loop is straight. The ski, spring, brackets needs blasted and painted or powdercoated (satin black). It needs a wear bar.

The left ski is straight but the loop is bent. The spindle bolt is frozen so the spindle is still attached. The ski, spring, bracket needs blasted and painted, again powder coating preferred.

The ski shocks are chrome but are in terrible shape. My rechromer won't rechrome shocks with the fluid inside so I guess that's out. We have to decide whether to find new ones or go to black ones. I'll post a drawing of the dimensions that we'll need. Do not worry about the bushings, I can have those made locally.

Here's a shot of the handle bar clamp. The top half has been polished, the bottom half original. Started with 220 grit, then 320 grit, then 400, 1000, 1500, then mother's polish, last was white rouge. Doesn't photograph well.
