I am planning on doing away with the oil injection system on my Liquifire, what is the fuel mixture ratio for it? I was told to just connect the fittings in the intake manifolds together with hose, is that ok? Can I just disconnect the pump and let it run dry?
Thanks in advance!

Re: '80 Liquifire fuel help
I think the ratio is 40:1. I think this would be bad, as there are 3 lines coming off the pump, 2 that go in just behind the carbs, this is where oil is injected to the engine, and the 3rd goes to the centre bearing on the crank. If this gets disconected you will risk burning up the bearing due to lack of lubrication. This engine, I think, needs oil injection. If you are worried about the pump failling(due to its age), then run a mix in the tank. A little extra oil is better then not enough. I have an 80 Liquifire and have had no problems with the pump so far(only been running 2 years since the rebuild).

Well said Cosmo, Also by running the oil pump dry it could fail thus rendering the water pump inoperable.

Re: '80 Liquifire fuel help
Sheesh, wish it wasn't so involved, I'd rather have the engine be simple. I say this esp. because now I need to find an oil reservoir and a place to mount it. How do I test the oil pump and how does one prime it?
