you could use a "stoich" meter which is fairly expensive but quite reliable in picking the correct jets as it will read O2 in the exhaust.

Pats small engine is who sold the kit.. I just talked with the guy in parts and they took it off the web site because it was not a complete kit... didnt seem very eager to help me find what i needed.

Here is a picture on my '73 JD 600's carbs when I bought it. It runs great, in perfect conditions last year I got just over 60 mph on it. It runs so well that I have not removed the carbs to see what is in them but I do know that these are flange mount carbs that came on some early Polaris sleds. I rode alot last year side by side with my dad's "73 400 with a tillotson. We both got the same fuel mileage, 40 miles on a tank which I think is 6 gallons but not completely empty, we did run mine out once and I think it was at 45 miles.

Also these carbs open all the way and I am suing a stock '73 600 throttle lever. yup, I was told it was imposible but i guess not, must be the small size of the carbs.

I am also rebuilding an engine for my '74 300 right now and I plan to put on a VM 34 and I will be setting it up with the same settings as my '79 trailfire 340 but with one size smaller jet, should be pretty close.
