Viking Racer Project

Post by lynxer »

Hey guys. I know this sled isnt a JD it is a Viking, but we are all in the same boat. Old sleds and less than common as John Deere and Viking were. I bought this sled at St. Germain last spring. I want to oval race at Eagle River and this is the sled I am going to do it on. It was a good starting point. Alot of things were not the way I would do it and not very good so it was fixed. It was easier for me to look at something that has raced before and see what will and will not work. I got it home started looking and brought it to Greg at H.P.L. Welding and Fab he is also known as Sprocket online. He did alot of fixing and really made it into a sled. I have been working, tinkering and getting parts. I am running a sachs 340c with a 340r flywheel, head and housing. It is coming together. Pictures are worth more than words. Let me know what you think!
The way I got it
