Does anyone have a very good photo of the rear of the tunnel right behind the sno flap? I need a detailed photo so we can make a couple of pieces. Ours spit a cleat or two in its time. If it could be emailed to me at jgc@unitelc.com that would be great.

Thanks,

Also.....is there a source for the reflective dot yellow stripe tape that runs thru the front bumper and above the sno flap on the flap retainer?

Justin, unfortunately I'm not home until tomorrow or I'd email the photo you want right away. I do have the tape, it's on a roll so if you could just give me an idea of how much you need that would be helpful.

Don, I looked thru all of your photos on the CD you sent and there isn't one of the very rear of the tunnel.

I think the tape is about 16 to 18 inches on the rear flap retainer. Then to go around the complete front bumper, I'm guessing it would take about 4 feet on the sides and another 3 to 4 feet on the front part of the bumper. So, maybe 17 feet would do it?

There is no tape residue on the bumper on the machine as it is. Did they all come with that?

Clack,

I have a 340/s with the snowflap off, so I will post a pic. The original bumpers all had the reflective tape on them, but the replacement 'Cyclone' type did not come with it.

Note that you guys will need to some work to make the Cyclone bumper work with the glass pan, as that one is made for the aluminum pan.

Yep, we are working on making that bumper and the pan and hood all work together. This will probably be the first one that is modified to accept the fiberglass pan and bumper combo. We are trying to get by without having to cut the bumper down. It will look great if it works!

The bodywork portion of this build has been a huge job!

That would be great if you could post a photo of the tunnel rear. Thanks Joe!

Justin, I'm positive that the back of the 340/S tunnel is no different than any 76-78 Cyclone or Liquifire and I'll have pictures from one of the Cyclone restorations.

Hi again Clack,

Below are pic's showing the rear of the 340/s tunnel, and then the differences between pan and bumper assembly's. In the middle pic, the orginal narrow bumper is bolted on over the glass pan with the ABS hood. This is the pan you have a reproduction of. In the second pic, you can see the "T" shaped Cyclone bumper on the replacement aluminum pan and glass hood.

Note how the aluminum pan is lower compared to the bottom of the hood vs. the glass pan and narrow bumper set up. My suggestion is to trim the top of the glass pan down a bit and fab up a few 90deg. aluminum brackets to attach the pan to the bumper, or cut the tabs off your old pan.

I hope this helps!

Hey Joe are those pictures of the rear of the sled you rode at the hall of fame last year. I told you just to let JRC pass when he gets behind you cause he aint scared to use the bumper to get his message across. I hope ya learned a lesson young man.

Tabor,

I have plenty of experience eating JRC snowdust on the RWC in 08 from his F7, then last year on the Vintage Challenge from his Dator. I was actually on a 78 CC Liquifire last year, but plan to be on another 340cc racer for 2010. So, no, I guess I haven't learned my lesson yet!

I think a really good mechanic could help keep me out of trouble. Know where I could find one?!
