I've had the flywheel off my 340RS/2 a number of times now, and torquing the retaining nut to specs has always been a challenge because the smooth flywheel offers nothing to hold it by.
This week I built a simple tool based on concept of the 00/JDX flywheel holding tool.
Nothing fancy, no paint yet. Started out as a washer, then realizing I needed more thickness to allow the cap screws to get tight, I added the 1/8th inch plate that includes the arm behind the washer.
I used the starter cup for a drilling template, and cut the arm out with the torch. A bit of smoothing and some paint should finish the job.

The problem with cranking it on with an impact gun is that you can over torque the threads and cause damage either jamming the flywheel on or stripping the threads. Flywheels and clutches should always be torqued up with a torque wrench.

Great job, looks like you could turn it over to remove the nut by hand. I had borrowed the orginal JD tool from my local dealer and copied it.

That's is possible. I always take them off with the impact, so I didn't feel the need for two arms.
Guys: both the clutches and flywheels need to be torqued, not slammed on with the impact!
