Hey Guys,
Just picked up the sled tonight, but does the electric start system use 6 volt or 12 volt battery?? Don't want to melt anything when I grab a battery and also not sure if there are any tags left saying what the system is. Also picked up a beauty 300 which I intended to use the body for the 600 motor but I see they are way different now in the shop.....the belly pan is pooched on this 600.
Is a 76 JD 600 12 volt starter??

12 volt. If your planning on replacing the belly pan by cutting and welding, the location of the pan's mounts on the 600 will be one of a kind because the chassis is wider.

As the 600 is the only wide track Deere it would be best to seek out another 600 chassis.
