Adding electric start to 80 Liquifire
Adding electric start to 80 Liquifire
I remember seeing a writeup on how to add electric start to a 80 Liquifire that included pictures and step by step on how to do it. I can't find it any more. Anyone know where it is?

That was me look up my post with the pix there are comments in the photobucket area for every pix. I did this to several liquifire engines now and i am glad i did. no more pulling and unlike the kawasaki sleds these use lawn tractor batteries so no need to buy another. let me know if you have any questions. you can use old artic cat starters if they had a kawi engine or just use the starter ring off the flywheel and groove your original flywheel press on and your in.

Wouldn`t a flywheel from a Sportfire work? I too someday want to install electric start on a LF. All I need now is the correct keyswitch.

A1 SLEDER JIM, I sent you a PM.
Re: Adding electric start to 80 Liquifire
I have taken the pictures and comments from A1 Sleder Al and some info from Bob15 and made up a webpage for adding electric start. If everyone could look at it, and if it looks good, then I can check with Matt to have it added to the FAQ section.

I would think an Intruder flywheel would be a better choice.Kulture Vulture wrote:Wouldn`t a flywheel from a Sportfire work? I too someday want to install electric start on a LF. All I need now is the correct keyswitch.
