new problem
new problem
on my jd 300 the bottom of the chain case is missing all the bolts and is now not centered. i got the right bolts now i just cant line it up because of the track. how can i remove the track ?

It sounds like you need to loosen the track tension to allow the driveshaft bearing mount bolts to line up. As for the bolts, orignally the nuts were welded inside the case, many have been broken loose of the welds.
Before you ask how to loosen track the track, this is where it is important to have a service manual. Once the track is loosened, it must be retensioned correctly and align the track correctly. So you see at this point there could be many questions answered in the service manual.

well once i put the bolts in then i should be done fixing the sled for now.

The big question is why did the bolts fall out in the first place?? & if like Harley says they are suppose to be welded to the case then how are you going to install new bolts without removing the whole chaincase from the sled & repairing it properly??

Not sure why they were missing but we got them in and tightened them so all should be good now
