Ultra high performance JDX-8

Post by JDT »

Working on a 74 JDX-8 tonight. KEC-440/22.
Tested compression at 175 lbs.

WHAT??

Did I do something wrong or did I do everything right?

Theres a reason they called for premium gas for the earlier deeres. sounds like its a really good engine.

You may have 340 heads on it. My rebuilt 76 cyclone was only around 145 lbs. Are you sure you have a good gauge?

That is the reason I posted this. I have never had a 22RV with that kind of compression.

Yep the guage is reliable. And yes Brian it is a pull but not as bad as a 775 Rotax.

I have not started it yet. No ES and no fan belt.

You know it could have smaller heads. Never really checked that close.

Sled has over 5000 miles on it but everything has been rebuilt.
