'75 X8 Timing Specs?

Post by GreenFever »

I need to set the timing on my '75 X8 but I can't find any specs for it. Would it be 0.096" BTDC like the '78 340 cyclone, 0.118 like the '74 295/S or something completely different?. Also wondering if it would be beneficial to advance it a few degrees?
'72 500 x2
'72 400 not running
'73 400 parts sled
'74 295/S x3 missing many parts

If your '75 X8 has the CDI ignition system, the proper timing is 0.096 BTDC. This timimg applies to all Kioritz engines with the CDI ignition. Set the timing as stated and use high octane pump gas.
