Texas Bound

Post by WinnipegStPaul9 »

Just want to wish everyone a very Happy New Year and be safe. Bob (Deerekid9) and family along with Patty and I are leaving for San Antonio, Texas tomorrow to see grandson Cam graduate from Air Force basic training on December 31st. As always, Patty will be watching for open barns and behind buildings in case we find that elusive John Deere sled...........but chances are pretty slim. I would have said that JD sleds were non-existant in Texas but our buddy Jon took care of that years ago. I still doubt I'll find many around San Antonio LOL. I'm taking my laptop but computer time will be limited so if you need me, be patient.

Having a wonderful meal at your place makes your invitation very inviting however, we're headed to Indy, St. Louis, Memphis, Little Rock, Dallas and then San Antonio. Let's hope the (driving) weather is better tomorrow. If I didn't have so much to do today I guarantee you the sleds would come off the trailer. Nice snow here....not a lot.....just nice to see.

I remember a few years ago there was a 300 for sale on Ebay in Texas, but it had wheels! They don`t know what they are missing! San Antonio is a beautiful town, I don`t know what the temperature is there, but if you have the chance check out the river walk.

Congratulations Don, you should be proud!

BTW; My son received his commission in the Air Force earlier this year and begins flight training in 2010. He is stationed at Laughlin AFB Texas, just down the road from San Antonio. In fact, he is flying back to San Antonio as I write this note.

Welcome to the Air Force family,
Jim

The good news......it was 72 degrees here in San Antonio today. The bad news..... it's darned tough sledding!!! Sounds like we're getting a pretty good snow back home so pre Waconia tune ups will be possible.
