I am about ready to drill a big hole in the ice and push the Walbro along with the sled INTO the water. I took the carb apart and followed the diagram to a tee. As it turns out, I had it together correctly the first time. To make sure, I took the carb off my JDX8 to compare and I had it together the same as the working on. Put it back on the sled and it sputtered the first few pulls, BUT after about 50 pulls, nothing. It is still dripping fuel out of the intake as well. WTF is wrong with this damn carb???? Could the engine be flooded and if so, is there an easy way to drain it?
Should I have put new needles and springs in? I only replaced the gaskets/diaphragms. I cleaned all the orifices,blew it out with air, ALL screens clean. I am quickly reaching the point where I want to take my 20lb sledge to the whole darn thing..............

Did you not change the actual needle and seat? (one that opens with the floats) could it be leaking letting fuel past somewhere? Are the plug soaking wet when you pull on it a few times? Try spraying some raw fuel right into the carb then pulling, if it fires then your not getting any fuel, if those plugs were soaked after a couple of pulls then something is pushing too much gas out. Are your plugs any good, did you try a second set?
Did you get the return and impulse lines backwards? as facing impulse on left and return on right.

I'm wondering if the needle isn't shutting off. The metering arm may have been bent in the wrong place, allowing it to appear to be adjusted correctly, but not work right.

Tried two different sets of new plugs and yes I had the impulse and return where they should be. After a few pulls, they are soaked with gas. Seems like something is stuck and gas is simply pumping in unchecked. Metering arm could be doing something funky, although I did not bend it at all. I simply took it out and put it back in the same as it came out. Even though I feel I cleaned the carb thoroughly, could it be clogged?
I am only stubborn so long, I broke down and called a friend of a friend who runs a small shop at his house. Spoke with him and he walked me thru the carb and told me it sounds like I put it back together properly. I have decided to take it to his shop tomorrow and he says he will get it going in short order. He told me he has a lot of experience with the Walbro carbs. I may hang out so I can see first hand what it was that was screwed up. Figure I will have him check the timing etc while I am there as well.
I will make sure to check back in to let you all know what it was so others can be aware in case they run across the same problem.
A nice 25+mile run thru the powerline trails on the JDX8 improved my mood greatly!

Look on the bright side, at least your not dealing with tilly's. Stay patient you will get it sorted out eventually.

As an aid to these dredded wally's. Take a scribe and number each stack up plate, #1 being the bottom, #2 next plate etc.
I have been round and round and round with these turds.
My problem in the end was rust in the tank causing my grief. I think the tang on the metering arm is bent causing the flooded condition also.
