340 Liquifier, fuel pump kit identification

Post by upbeck »

Hello All,

My 77 Liquifier has a good spark but always needs starter fluid to start after sitting for about a week. Choking it just doesn't seem to be enough. It idles and runs well enough, it just starts hard when it's cold.

If I start it every day, it starts on the first pull. I've had some advice to rebuild the fuel pump, but I could use some help in identifying which kit to buy (mfgsupply.com) - there are about 8 different kits.

I have a service manual, but the discription doesn't seem to match the description in the mfgsupply web site.

Is there a simple way to identify the correct kit without removing the pump?

thanks,

Jim

This is what you want:

You should also think about replacing the crank seals for proper fuel pump operation.

The seals will have a number stamped on them. This is what I have found:
Mag side seal=1302, 30 x 62 x 10
PTO side seal=1301, 25 x 62 x 10
You can get them from Vendors such as Pat's Small Engine
