Burned a piston on my 600 today

Post by ljm »

Had the 600 going today. Running great then all of a suddenit quit.
Fan belt broke and over heated the motor.
I'm sure that the mag side piston is cooked.
Where can I get a piston for a KEC-440/5?
Anyone know what fan belt this motor takes?
I see you can get gasket sets from Winderosa. Has anyone used them? Or where else can I gaet gaskets?

thanks
Lloyd

Just found out ..... bore and stroke on a kawasaki 440 is the same as the KEC-440/5

Anyone ever tried the piston in a KEC-440/5

thanks

Bore and stroke the same???

Even if this is true, the wrist pins may be different, skirts different, ring location pins different, ect.

A carefull eye balling side by side and some checking with a caliper would be in order.
