Kiortz/CCW reed power plate?
Kiortz/CCW reed power plate?
A friend of mine, who is an old racer, stopped by to look at my 76 LF. While he was looking at the carbs he asked if I had the power plate extension on the reed valves that held the reeds about 1/4 in. further out . He said it would be worth 5+ hp! Has anyone heard of these? I did a check and mine look stock. Thanks Dave
Re: Kiortz/CCW reed power plate?
I have herd something mentioned about reed spacers. Never with that much of a gain. One problem I see is the studs for intake would be too short with a 1/4" plate in there.

Looking at the studs you would have to put longer studs in! Any more and you start pushing carbs into the airbox! The comment interested me because I new of spacer plates and high rise manifolds for cars but I'm lacking knowledge for 2 strokes!
Thanks for any and all inputs! The next time I see my friend I'll try to find out more info! We are all busy trying to get our sleds reading for the Tired Iron Race at the end of the month!Dave
