100/101C Clutch

Post by mikex8 »

Just looking for some insight on this thought

I have JDX4 with a CCW440 which has a 101C on it. The clutch was shot. I dissasembled and saw that the bushing on the moveable (outer sheave was shot.) I missed the proper sheave on ebay, but I bought a sheave off of a 100C.

As far as I can tell, the only difference betweent the 2 clutches is the placement of the bronze bushing. On the 101C the bushing is on the fixed sheave and on the 100 it was on the moveable. the bushing on my inner sheave was shot anyways, so I cut it off. I had a hunch that with the bushing removed, the 100c Sheave I just got would fit and it did. Does this sound like it would be a good thing to try or not?

UPDATE:

After cleaning up the inner sheave, discovered it is tapered and the moveable will does not fit
