worked the chassis yesterday and took some measurements for the RH side running board lube tank and heres what i came up with so far
Image

then i sketched what it would look like with a home made oval foot rest, and a custom lube tank, as well as the custom skis, and the rear suspension lowered a couple inches

went to walmart dtoday and decided to make a template or 3-D model of the lube tank with the measurements that i took off the chassis to see how it would fit into the chassis and heres what i came up with, i plan on making a template for the oval foot rest as well in the future

Are yo planning on making this sled oil injected? If not, what is the tank for?

Dustin, the lube tank would be for the sliders. It is a normal mod for oval racing where there is less snow to use for lubrication of the slides.

Thanks Scott. I did not know that. What do they normally run for lube on the slides?

I think it varies with the rider. I have herd of washer fluid and RV anti freeze. I guess you could use any liquid that doesn't freeze and these days is eco safe.

it seems like the washer fluid, and rv antifreeze would work well, thants another system i have to figure out i have seen alot of guys run a secondary fuel pump with 3/16th " lines i belive, i was thinking about making my lube tank gravity fed with a on off petcock in line

Liquidatorkid,

Looks like you are making some good progress getting parts cleaned and in order.

Just a idea on this lube tank. The Dators had an option of a rear gas tank. It was mounted in the back hump of the one up seat. You mentioned using this as a gravity fed unit. The tank would be over the tunnel in the rear placing in right over the suspension. Not sure what all you are planning here with this project but this would keep you with the Liquidator theme. Just my thoughts.

LDKid--

I like Troy's suggestion.
It would work better for gravity feed as it would sit higher and it would not be visable.
As long as you are making a custom seat the tank could be incorporated into the design.

heres the only pic i could find of the tanks
Image
if anone has a pic of the tank or could take the measurements off one i can sketch one up on the pc

didnt relize you posted a pic of the tank thanks
