I placed a nice bid for Ed. This is a very cool decal, and a real piece of history. Let's see what she brings!

Ed, you are sure finding a lot of cool stuff!

Bib #243 form the 1973 I-500 belongs to Ernest Meunier of Ste. Cecile Milton, Quebec.

My question....Any chance one of the returned 295/S chassis is still laying around?

Thanks for the info on the bib. Have a few storys about Erne!! When the 295/s sleds came back no one realy had any interest in saveing them. Most hit the scrap pile. The following year I pulled Knuteson's 340/s off the scrap and rebuilt it and have that sled now. I know where 295/s ser. # 0000001 is smashed and buried in a farm field. Havent followed that one through yet. ED

Sounds like it's time to get a metal detector and do a little digging before the ground freezes!

Just curious, was #0000001 a race sled, or was it used for testing?

Hey Ed, I think there are a few Erine Meunier stories from back then. ( $100--200$ John Deere pay ) was one of his favorite lines.
I sold my 295/S to one of my dads friend, who sold it to someone north of Winnipeg, has a recipte with his name, but no address or ph #. I have been trying to track it down, no luck so far. S/N of the sled is JDSOC 020015M.Maybe one day it might show up...Bob

Jim: Bill (164) is in the same photo at start line as Munsee and Zimmerman. Bob: Keep looking. I am going to make a few calls to see if i can get more info on # 001. I have a copy of the Wisconsin regestration card of the last owner. I would be interested what shape it is in. I do know it is only the tunnel. It was stripped all the way down. ED

I met Bill at Horicon last year, a very nice gentleman. He gave several pictures of his 295/S. Does he know his old race chassis might exist? He'd probably be interested.

Ed, are you writing all this information down somewhere?

Update on the 295/s # 200001 Tunnel. Talked to the last owner. He parted out the sled. Still has the motor. no other parts. Dumped the chassis, seat, and rear storage assy. and dumped in scrap pit on farm. Was there for a number of years. Then he tore down a barn and threw all the lumber into the pit and burned it. Then buried everything. So my guess is the tunnel melted. I think we can put old # 0001 to rest. He thinks he still has the middle small gas tank. I will be seeing him next week. And yes...I will ask him if he wants to get rid of the eng, has exhaust and carbs. ED

Sleds that should be traced and found are as follows (just my opinion) Jansens 4th place 340/s from the Winnepeg. Enns winning Park Rapids Lquidator, Enns North Dakota winning Liquidator, Reimers 3 place 1978 Winnepeg CC, JRC 4th place Winnepeg CC ( North Dakota) Osters 1978 CC Liquifire....any Hayes/Kruel Liquifires. Otte's Sauk Center Liquidator, Ottes North Dakota 340?s......think we can do that in the balance of 2010? JRC

Nice to se you back Jon.........I do have in my possesion a well documented Liquidator from Enduro Team Deere. Only other one i know of is Brian Nelsons but i,m having a little trouble tracing to a particular Driver and Mechanic.
Who and where is J Erdman? Mechanic?

Who are all the members of Enduro Team Deere in 1976? Could use some help on this one.

Ed,
I have 295/s serial # 68, supposedly came out of bob huffmans garage. Pretty straight chassis, was a bogie sled, can tell by the paint rub marks. Any info onthis one? Thanks.
