Update 12/08/10
Well were still not any further a head yet next set of 5 was still too loose so rejected again. Hope to see more Proto's soon..

Kenny

Well guys first off I got 4 sets of Proto's in yesterday, they really look & feel great.
The first thing I did was REJECT them.
The ID is wrong which meant that they would have to be put on with some kind of adhesive, which is NOT the way I want it..

I will Keep everyone posted..

My opinion, as an aftermarket grip, very good. It’s not exactly the same as the original in color and the shape of the handle part with the JD logo.
Unless my originals have so much polish or rubber conditioner on them, the new grip is not as shinny/glossy around the handle / logo part of the grip. The recessed circle on the end is larger than original.
The middle of the grip is good. They fit just as snug as the original. (using air pressure as suggested before works the best to get them off without damage)
If you were to install one of the new grips on both sides, you would never know the difference. But by only installing just 1, I think it would stand out.
Over-all, for a replacement , I would have no problem using them.
The left grip is original in the top picture. The bottom grip is original in the second picture.

The one I got fit the bar like it was supposed to. As Pat stated, any differences are minor.
I told Kenny to fire for effect. :beers;
