Edit this Rainville, I dare you! (since I can only edit a quote, I say "bit me" LMAO!)
I have a 1980 LF with a bare tunnel, but it's obvious that the paint was removed. I would really like to get a better look at that one, as there should be some tell tail sign that it was painted or not. I would drag that one home just to investigate it. If the owner removed the paint, they did a ncie job from what shows in that picture.

The s/n stampings "look" factory, but so does the sticker around it. Neat find no matter if done by an owner or not.

PS: Is that car really a Tucker? VERY COOL if so.

May i ask, does it have a stamp in the tunnel ? It should be stamped right into the aluminum j44jk for the 80L/F if not i would have to guess a replacement tunnel ?? Or did they not stamp the test sleds ? cool find if it is a tester

There do not appear to be any Tucker cars in that photo to me.
The Tucker had three headlights for one thing.

For sure a factory stamp. It has the dot matrix for the year/month and the dealers could not reproduce that and usually never filled that field in. I will run the serial number to see who it was sold to originally.

Joe : I could have been sold on the employees sale. Could have been a test sled that was in good cond. All if any exp. test parts would have been removed and updated to production. We had many snowmobiles at these sales back then. The 295/s ser. # 00001 was sold on one of those sales. ED

Ok So I was wrong. Looked like a Tucker grille.

I see the Caddy "V" emblem on the hood now.

I have to ask this. How do you run the serial number to see whom it was sold to? I've wanted to try to investigate the history of my sleds (at least the original dealer).

The Sled was sold in Hales Corners Wi and the dealership is no longer in business.
No other info is available. I would love to get a look at this sled.

Hmmmm...the plot thickens

I'm thinkin' I may just have to pick this one up, if the price is right (it is pretty rough and it's missing lots-o-parts).

Sledshack, I'm guessing that if you don't want it there are other board members that would like to buy it......and I'm not one of them LOL. I have plenty of projects.
