1972 400 bumper

Post by firespitter »

Hey guys, I am restoring my sled, and the chrome on the bumper is pretty rusty. I'd like to get it re-chromed if possible, but so far I haven't found any place that can do it. Also, I'm guessing it's gonna be pretty expensive, but I could use some suggestions. I am located in central WI. if anyone knows a place not too far away? Thanks!

Hi, If you go to www.youtube.com and search for chrome cleaning tips, there are quite a bit of methods used to clean up rust on chrome. You would be amazed how clean you can get rusty chrome, depending on the extent of the rust. I think that you can get that chrome lookin good and still keep its original vintage look.
Good luck!
I wanted to write something witty here.... but I got nothing.
