Thanks for your imput guys, I'll be working on this project this week . The cdi box that I was supposed to get this week backfired, how hard is it to get a new box or stator for this year of sled? And what will they cost, any ideas

Well, I think I found the problem with the x8 of mine. I tested the stator and got no reading on the high & low coils but got the right readings on the rest of them is this sound right , both the high & low speed coils are done? anyway I ordered a stator from Hewtech It will be here next week I hope this is the problem. I just wanted to say thanks to the guys for the input, it has helped me a lot

nothing at all...or weak...or won't start?

You have unplugged the whole hiring harness from the motor and tried that? Not just the key and kill...unplug everything from the motor to the sled..

Also if you got a new cdi make sure you read the topic on switching the wires for the coils...I may be wrong, but I know you HAVE TO on the Liquifire to get them to work...but I had lots of spark, just wouldn't start.

DId you check your flywheel for cracks or issues? seeing as almost all your motor end wiring should be new with the stator and cdi I can't figure that's an issue.....any chance you have the stator plat way out of whack?

SpitfireKing,
I dont know where that came from but you do not have to switch any wires around. I have worked on a few Cyclones and Liquifires with the Prestolite Ignition. The color codes are all the same and the red primary wire goes to the PTO coil and the white primary wire goes to the mag side coil.

Are we getting the second gen. Liquifire CDI confused here?

I remember reading that there was an issue with wire colors on aftermarket CDIs last year or so, for the Kawasaki engines. For the record I haven't experienced it yet.

They must have been aftermarket. The NOS cdi boxes are correct.
