mikuni fuel pump on 80 440 liquifire

Post by iceygears73 »

Does anyone have any info where you can get complete rebuild kits for the dual outlet oiginal fuel pumps? I tried the local parts place with no luck, then went to DK where they show the picture of everything you need but the kit only re-builds the new 3 pc. pulse style that they sell. It doesn't include the black diaphragm and plunger and the diaphragms that they give you don't match. The original is the round 2 1/2 " 5 section. Thanks.

Bob at Image had the kits, or he'd be happy to sell you a used pump. You might be better off just to get one of those new style ones from DK since rebuilding the old stack style pumps is difficult and it may not function when you're done.

I have to agree. I like to use the Mikuni DF 52-73. DK does not sell it. Here's a picture of it on my newest 80 LF. I like it so well that I'm replacing the 5 plate (that I rebuilt 15 years ago) on my oldest 80LF next week.

But if you want to keep the 5 plate, rebuild kits are still out there I saw a bunch at the A-1 show a few weeks ago.

Use to be able to get the Invader/Intruder/Liqufire aftermarket fuel pump kits from MFG Supply but they don't list them any more. Only place I've found them listed now is Al's Snowmobile under Al's part number AL33322. Oem aftermarket number for the kit was 07-417. Also keep in mind that one of the aftermarket gaskets is missing a hole that you have to put in the gasket otherwise it won't pump if you forget to do this.

Where did you order your DF 52-73 from? Sounds a plan to me, I'll go that route and save the headaches for something better! Once again , can't thank all of you enough for your help.

I got mine from the local Arctic Cat dealer for $35. He gets them through Marshall distributing. Here's a link http://www.marshalldistributing.com/index.php. You can do a dealer search.

They are also on many online stores like http://www.psep.biz/store/fuel_pumps_-_complete.htm

If you go this route you may have to remove the little bracket with the stud and use shorter bolts so you don't punch a hole in the heat exchanger.
