Re: Spitfires, Good, Bad, & Ugly
my spitfire has a rubber track on it. i guess it is a little bit shorter then a spitfire track because who ever put on had to drill holes about an inch ahead of each hole for the skid frame.but the drive pitch is the same and the wheels line up with the inside lugs. seems like it will work. this is a project spitfire i baught for somethign to work on when i am board.

Re: Spitfires, Good, Bad, & Ugly
I am guessing the dropping cylinder is the result of a bad CDI. A pretty easy fix, but costly ($100), considering the overall price of a used spitfire ($300-$700). If you go this route, make sure you get the right CDI, there are less expensive ones out there but you get what you pay for. I spend one whole winter, going through the entire engine after buying a cheaper CDI. I ended up with a great little power plant, 2 or 3 extra butterfly carbs and one cheap CDI that was bad out of the box. Once I got a "good" one, that little Spit runs like a champ. Its almost more fun then my XF7, oh wait, the Spit is for the kids... Get it you won't be sorry!

I really like mine! It's a wild one. Not a leisurely ride, you have to be hanging on! They can be very squirrely on ice and hard pack, easy to wipe out.
