For Sale: A KWC Original Go-Cart
Hey everyone,
I am thinking of selling one one Cameron's projects. He recently purchased/traded for the rolling chassis and engine for a "one of a kind" go-cart. Cam and I freshened up the engine with new seals, gaskets and complete carb overhaul.
The chassis is a JDX series with a CCW 440/21 and Walbro carb. That is about all that is "Original". The rest is from the ideas in Kevin Campbell's head. Scary right?
I attached pics of the original project and where it stands right now.
This is what I think the cart needs to be safe and sound: A juice brake system and seat. I have a seat for it, but needs recovered. We installed an electric start kit on it, but it needs a new battery and a better ign switch. Cam painted a different hood and made some modifications to help keep air flow on the clutches ( which are included).
Now, for the uncomfortable part. Trying to decide on a price. It was Cameron's thought to save up and get his nephew a later model 120 to get him in the "mood" per say. Trust me, Braylon didn't need persuasion as long as uncle Cam was doing it, it was what he would do. So, that being said, we are going to put forth the proceeds from the cart towards a newer sled. And if it doesn't sell, I will finish it and see where we go from there. No one will hurt my feelings if you think my price is outrageous and you won't hurt my feelings with counter offers. I can always say "NO" right?
I have listed it locally at $1000, but as I stated above, shoot me an offer. I am "NOT" taking bids, not setting a time limit, and not going to lose friends over this. I am looking to help Cam help Braylon.
Enjoy the pictures of the original finished project, please realize that the "Goons" riding it are not included, so rest easy.
Thanks,
Bob Amber

That is really pretty cool and the work looks realy good. How hard would it be to put quad tires on it? Imagine that thing ripping through the woods!

What kind of a turning radius does this creation have?

Todd, We never got to ride it yet. So, if KWC, Joe Wanie, or Brian want to chime in here, I would appreciate it.JDT wrote:What kind of a turning radius does this creation have?

The turning radius is not quite as good as my Deere 277LX lawn tractor, but better than a 379 Peterbilt. This kart is a hoot to ride, the top speed was GPS checked at 63 mph. Like Bob said, it really needs to have a better brake installed because the orignal band brake really fades at high speeds.

Re: For Sale: A KWC Original Go-Cart
My recollection of driving the cart was it was indeed a blast. I was riding it on a blacktop road, and I did not test the upper speed envelope. The steering is go-cart quick, but not twitchy. That said, I suspect that at high speed it requires your full attention. As with everything Kevin builds, the cart looked good, and it worked.
The thing about it is that its unique. If Kevin had it in the truck, he couldn't stop for gas without drawing a crowd.

Re: For Sale: A KWC Original Go-Cart
Bob,
Your former Polaris 120 is currently holding down a pallet in my basement. My sister and most of her family have relocated to Baltimore, MD from Vermont, so Quincy is done racing it. It has been updated with a shock kit and such. I will contact her and see if she wants to keep it for kids or not.
While I don't need it, I kind of chuckle at how much trouble I could get into with the KWC cart in Texas.
