The actual color of your sled is called "Blitz Black" and it is still avalible at your local Deere dealer in either spray cans, quarts, or if you are really serious, gallons. Good luck on your project. You will find that we love pictures, so please share!

hello i just did a 74 jdx 4 base clear we used pro-spray clear and used 30 percent flatener on it . i will post some pics of it soon you can get blitz black through deere wade
