It looks like further investigation is warranted. Thanks for the heads up, Robb.

Says his son broke the windshield this past weekend. Ouch!

DA,
Read you PM, these are still available. Any 1984 Deere is very hard to find as we all know, especially in good shape.

I contacted the seller. Build date and serial number indicate it's an 83.

That's what another member told me as well. Somebody has put an '84 hood or '84 decals on it then as it has the "U" shaped decal over the motor shroud which is unique to the '84. Goes to show that you need the build date and serial # to know for sure.

It's 224xxx and 11/82. I might have a look at it this weekend because the War Dept. would like to visit a shopping facility in the neighborhood. I will advise.

Re: 1984 Sprintfire Chicago area
Inspection was postponed until today.
The Good:
Track and skid appear solid.
Skis are straight.
Test rode around the yard a bit; it starts and runs like a watch.
The Bad:
Seat has the black duct tape treatment.
Tunnel decals are AWOL.
The Ugly:
Hood has two hits, one per side.
Windshield is broken, apparently this and one hood smack happened together.
It will be here on Tuesday morning.

Re: 1984 Sprintfire Chicago area
Had it out for a short ride this morning, so far so good. It needs quite a few items but the basics are solid and it should be a good first sled for the kids after they graduate from Kitty Cat School.
I'll start with a windshield.....
