Re: Wanted...1980 Liquifire Suspension Shaft/swing arm
Paul,
With your talent, I thought you would be able to make a new shaft and repair the swing arm.
Since the pivot shafts are no longer available, I fabricated new ones. I purchased Air-Craft quality aluminum round stock from McMaster Carr, cut pieces to the proper length, drilled and tapped the ends for the mounting bolts. I drilled a hole in my wood bench top for the pivot shafts to drop down thru. I used a piece of scrap wood to clamp the shafts into and hold them in center with the drill press.

Paul, I might have one but most likely the shaft is "stuck".

Paul, I believe I have a good aluminum shaft if needed, but no arm.

Re: Wanted...1980 Liquifire Suspension Shaft/swing arm
Guys,
Since threads on my alum shafts (80 Liquifire) shot, decided to go with steel shafts and be done with it. Also installed zerks on shaft tubes to keep grease inside.
Also fabricated new shaft that shock is mounted on. Original was aluminum but pretty badly bowed. Again went with steel and machined ends so it fits like old one.
Obviously a little weight gain with steel, but don't have to think about them anymore, just grease them through zerks once a season.
If you do go with steel, get cold-rolled which is much more precise spec than standard stuff.

Bought brand new '80 Liquifire in '79. Sold when I moved to Alaska in '81.
Now restoring '80 Liquifire from bottom up.
