80 liquifire rev limiter

Post by iceygears73 »

I finally got my liquifire fired up this morning and was trying to pull it out the of the garage to catch up up with my son and noticed it was not going to move because it was cutting out on the rev limiter. I first unplugged the single red wire with no luck. Then the multiple plug and what a difference ! My question is, what is the single wire and should it be left plugged in ? Thanks.

The single red (actually orange and white) wire that connects to the rev-limiter is connected to the switch in the throttle block. I ran my oldest one for years with just the 3-wire connector unplugged. Recently, I repaired the 3-wire plug and reconnected it the rev-limiter functioned flawlessly.

Sounds to me like an issue with the switch in the throttle block.
