Well....Murphy strikes again. I was riding my '74 JD 300 yesterday with the kids and wife and all were having a good time until the sled wouldn't idle unless I applied lots of throttle or choke. I figured it was a fuel problem so I put the sled up as it was getting dark. This morning I started it with same symptoms. Pulled it in and started working from fuel tank back. Everything was good until I went to remove the carb for a good cleaning. One of the ears of the mounting flange cracked and broke which was probably the culprit that was screwing up the air/fuel mix. The only spare carb I have that fits is a WDA-32 from a 400. It bolted up with no problem but was throwing WAY to much fuel into the engine. I tried to lean it out as much as possible but to no avail. Soooo....I have a couple of questions:
1. Will a WDA-32 work on a 300 with the Kohler 295?
2. Could it be that my WDA-32 just needs either a rebulid or metering arm adjustment?
3. Does anyone have a spare WDB-31 they'd be willing to part with?
Thanks again for any assistance you may have. BTW, I posted that I have a New in Box WR7 Walbro for an early 400 if anyone is interested. The JD part # is AM52007.

Re: '74 JD300 Carb question
I think the WDA just needs to be rebuild/adjusted.
