Engineered Graphics
Does anyone know what's going on with Engineered Graphics? I've tryed calling them almost every day for over two weeks because he still hasn't finished the last decals for my Spitfire and I haven't got any answer or a call back. They didn't go under did they?! I hope not, they do great work, but I'm getting a little nervous that he won't finish my decals before Waconia.

Re: Engineered Graphics
Frank has fallen off the face of the earth. The last email I got from him was a mass email that went out, saying that he was disassociating himself with the sled community. I know of quite a few others who are waiting on stuff from him. My parents being one of them, waiting on stickers and a banner. Good luck in tracking him down, If your in Wisconsin, Here is his address. Even when I spoke to him at the A-1 show, he was talking about getting out of the sled stuff completely.

Re: Engineered Graphics
Wow what the hell? I can't believe he's ditching all of us! I'm not surprised to hear that I'm not the only one waiting on stuff though. The thing that's really weird, is that when i talked to him after I got my decal kit in the mail, I told him how there were some mistakes and some decals missing and he apoligized up and down about it and made me new custom ones off pictures and sent them to me right away. I was so happy that he took care of me so quick and now that I ordered some diferet ones, it's the complete opposite. What the heck? Even though I'm mad at him, it does suck to hear that we may all lose him, he was really good asset to vintage sledders. I wonder what happened.

Re: Engineered Graphics
A buddy of mine has been bugging me to get him into the JD decal group.
He has a high quality printing business, but I always told him that "we" already had
someone doing it & didn't want to step on any toes. I can give him the go-ahead & set him up
with someone if the major consensus is yes.
Just offering if there is a real need...

Kreechur,
I've bought several decal sets from JDsleddecals.com for my Deere projects. They do a outstanding job and the quality is excellent.

Re: Engineered Graphics
I got my Sportfire decals from JDsleddecals.com/AFE Graphics this past fall as well. Quality looks good.
By the way, the Engineered Graphics web site has the following message:

Re: Engineered Graphics
Yeah jdsledecals does do a very nice job, the only problem is they're in Canada, so don't expect your decals very quickly, Theres really nothing you can do about that though. I read that website message too, you guys think they're redesigning it so it doesn't have any snowmobile stuff on it? Probably.
It really is too bad though that this had to happen, but oh well, what's done is done.

I'm going to disagree with your statement: "the only problem is they're in Canada, so don't expect your decals very quickly". First of all when purchasing decals one must look ahead at your project. You could not possibly expect ANY decal manufacturer to have in stock every decal that they produce. That's unrealistic. Do NOT wait until the last minute before ordering your decals. Secondly, I have used jdsleddecals for several projects (Charity Sled as an example) and they provide terrific service. Again, just plan ahead and give them time to produce the decals you need. DA

I've had some suppliers in Canada actually ship as fast as those that are on the west coast in the U.S.

Re: Engineered Graphics
Frank has threatened to quit sleds before. However, in this case, it sounds like he was disassociating himself from a group he was dissatisfied with. Maybe there is more to the story, I don't know. There has been a history of problems with that group.

Re: Engineered Graphics
Frank is a great guy. I have personally been to his house and visited with him. He runs a very large and I might add lucrative business designing and manufacturing packaging for human food products, Kraft is a large customer for him. Ever heard of Lunchables, I am pretty sure he designed and makes all the packaging.
On top of this he is also associated with a hunting service to Africa.
The snowmobile decals was just a passion thing that he did for fun and because he had all the equipment from his real business.
It is disappointing to lose Frank because I think he did alot of things for the Waconia and other shows, charity events and such.
However like we can all attest, sometimes when something is a side deal and you do it out of passion: interest can change, family life can change (I know he has some kids that are probably getting to that very active age (teens) and it becomes pretty clear what things drop off the priority list.
I have also worked with the jdsleds group out of Canada. Always real good to work with.

Re: Engineered Graphics
Sorry Don I didn't mean it in a bad way at all. Like I said, they do very nice work and I was very pleased with it, it's just that when I dealt with Frank before all of this happened he was very fast with shipping. I'm not sure if you were refering to me about the ordering decals at the last minute thing, but if you were, I didn't wait until the last minute to order the decals that I ordered from him, in fact I've been on him since October to finish making them. I figured that three months was pleanty of time to make them, but apparently it wasn't. Again I didn't know if you were refering to me, I'm sorry if I misunderstood what you said, but I just wanted to make that clear about how long I gave him.WinnipegStPaul9 wrote:I'm going to disagree with your statement: "the only problem is they're in Canada, so don't expect your decals very quickly". Re: Engineered Graphics
I wasn't referring to anyone in particular, just a statement to those who will want graphics in the future to understand that they are not on a shelf ready to ship. Certainly did not mean to pick on you, sorry if I did.
