on my 78 cyclone skid the holes are oogled out on the front arm mount
at the rail tips, there is a second set of holes, (further up/ back) if i use
those, How will it change my ride?

Are you referring to Item #10 Hinge? I have a 78 Cyclone suspension (worn out) and I looked at it. The only part with two holes (up/back) is #10. If so, I have no idea as to the effect it would have to move to the other holes except to raise the slide rails and decrease travel distance. If you can't find a replacement how about welding the holes shut or placing a plate on the back side and drilling new holes?

By changing the location of the mouting of the hinge plate to the upper holes, this puts more down-pressure on the front skis for better control of slow trail riding. The lower holes of my hinge plate were in the same shape as yours, I welded them up and redrilled them as Don suggested.

thanks for the info guys, I will just weld some washers on the inside of
the weldment that have the same inside diameter as the shoulder bolts.
