Re: John Deere Snowmobile Dealer Sign??????
Didn't some of the real old JD equipment signs use 4 legs? I know forsure some used 3 legs and then they went to the 2 legs later on.....but I don't think there was ever a dealer sign of that style anyway. Cool sign...I would live that in my shop but shipping would be a nightmare

Saw a video of a six legged deer on youtube....
The Four legged ones are very old.

I noticed that and thought the same thing. In the description it notes how they make accurate, historic signage, yet they used the wrong, much older, logo.

Re: John Deere Snowmobile Dealer Sign??????
Well I've got say that the sign on Ebay turns my stomach! I am going to email the seller regarding the "authenticity" he seems so proud of. This is nothing more than a fantasy piece or "fluff" and a poorly executed one at that.
As we all know, the real JD snowmobile dealer sign is quite a bit different not to mention the size.
The correct Deere logo from the sled days is known as the 1968 logo as that was when Deere adopted it and to us tractor collectors we call it a 1968 2LD logo as the deer has two legs. It was replaced with the current 2LD "jumping up" logo in 2000.
Anyone interested in the history of Deere's logos from Deere themselves, check out this link for more info.

I have emailed the seller and hope other people do too. I think the sign is in poor taste.

I didn't bother sending him a message - if they don't sell it will go away.
