The turn off the road near the start there was a boat on the side of the trail. My buddy was playing in the deep snow and fell off his sled. The idle is a bit fast and it kept going. He tried to catch it but it was just out of reach till he tripped and did a face plant. The sled stopped when it hit the boat. No damage, but was hard to stop laughing about it.

The 304 Massey had a 502 Rotax in it.

That would have been funny to see....too bad you didn't get some video. Nice to hear there was no damage or pain involved.

Yeah,,,I had a peek at the installation and he did a heckuva good job especially considering it was done within a few short days. The thing really caught my eye was how he added a jackshaft while still using the original chaincase flipped over to the RH side of the sled. I thought that was pretty ingenious.

I was there with the rupp along with Adam on a 400. We had some issues with the 400 at the first stop but it ran fine after that. I was surprised at the amount of snow up there.

Another surprise is the 76 LF i sold in the fall showed up to the run with a dator repop hood and a 800 rotax stuffed inside.

Either we were way later or earlier then you then??? Never saw another LF or your Rupp...too bad...would have been nice to get a ride in......as for that Dator clone..I'm guessing it's the one that was at the Minnedosa ride...would have loved to seen it.

Shane, I saw your truck at the gas station and I think there was a cyclone sitting at the gas station so I might have been in front of you, to bad. Mark did quite a job on the Liquifire, when he picked it up along with an 80 I had me doubts about getting the 76 put together. My fear is whether the track is going to be able to take tho Hp of that 800.

I could see an all rubber maybe holding together but a cleated track...not so much with that many ponies under the hood...the chain case will likely also implode someday. The Cyclone was Pete's so ya, you must have just missed us....we waited inside for you to see if you would be in for a poker hand, but we must have just missed each other.

If your looking for one fore ride I think Pete might be putting something together...I'll send you a PM when he does and maybe we can run up there together or something.

Too bad we missed you, S_Kyle. Would've been nice to hook up. Anybody know who won the Alouette? It was kinda ratty, but it still would have been neat to take it home and have some fun with.

We stopped in at the Russell Inn on our way home to grab a bite to eat. Geez, that's a busy place now with the Assesippi Ski hill bringing in the people. I had to park my truck & trailer way over at the Alliance church parking lot, so at least I can say I went to church on sunday. I chuckled as we were leaving the Inn......this big green bus pulls in and about forty 20-something year old ski bunnies get off the bus. Then I notice the name on the bus is Beaver Bus Lines.

I'm glad I don't have to haul that ratty old sled up to ya Pete, that would have been too much for me to handle...but I would have stored it for ya for a few years...no charge!

Ratty? I though it was in reasonable condition and kind of a different look to it with the cowl.

If you compared that to the 2 Cat's they raffled at Douglas the day before..Ratty is an understatement...but hey...they sold a lot of tickets on it, and glad the club got some cash out of it!

Guess I should not have used that term as it certainly wasn't bent up or rusted bad.....Just that it could use a fair bit of work to make it really nice. I'd have been thrilled to have won it. It was unique enough that I'd likely have attempted to restore it if I'd been lucky enough to win it. I liked that big fibreglass dash console....probably a very difficult part to find if a fellow ever wanted to restore such a sled and that one was in great shape. I never did peek at what engine was in the sled.

Good Old Sachs in there.....with the steel rewind cord...back when they didn't want you stranded on the trail

That trailer was pretty entertaining as well...nothing like 20' of trailer only made for 2 old sleds
