82 Trailfire LX motor swap

i have an 82 trailfire lx. i am wondering if an 80 trailfire motor will slide right in? are there any engine measurements that are different?

The standard Trailfire engine should fit, the only difference is the LX engine is oil injected.

The heads, cylinders, and recoil on an LX are different for sure. However, the bottom end, and therefore the bolt pattern of the engine mount, is the same as an 80. If you want to keep the oil injection, you will have to swap the starter cup, recoil, the drive hub inside the recoil, and you should be good to go.

You also have to use the oil injected intake ! There are 2 brass inlets on the bottom of each port on the intake which is where your oil lines hook up to !!
