Looking for Nos or good used ski spindles for the 83 Liquifire preferrebly ones that dont have the center bushing froze in. Bushing would be good. Also looking for a good set of ski springs for same sled. All mine are pretty well shot with the common bowed middle.
Thanks again

Re: looking for ski spindles
Thanks Randy.... Spindle ordered
Any chance i could get a little help on this front bumper installation I know, i know, stupid question but i never did one of these before and i have nothing to look at.
QUESTION: 1> By the hood hinge does the bumper actually make contact with the bulkhead using them 2 cam-lock things? And how does that relate to the hood support bracket. Cant believe that a bumper is giving me troubles.
The parts book is of no help on this one
Question 2> Is this the right order of installation: Bulkhead, washer, chaincase, muffler bracket, washer, nut ? or is there no washer between bulkhead and chaincase??/
Any help with pictures or otherwise??
Be patient with me please. I,m fragile

Re: looking for ski spindles
Chuck,
I'm sorry to say this, but you may be disappointed in the spindles you have purchased, if they are the ones in the ebay listing. There was a design change from the early fire series to the later ones. I'm not sure when they made the change, but I included a pic of both designs. The one on the right is from a 79 Trailfire, the one on the left is either from an 82, or 83 Liquifire sled. The one on the left is also identical to the one on my 82 Sportfire. The coarseness of the splines is the only difference, so If I am right and you purchased the early version, you have 2 options. Find matching steering arms for the one's you just purchased, or purchase the correct one's for the steering arms you have now.
On the chaincase the order you have presented, I believe to be correct. I have included a pic from my Sportfire, which should be the same for the Liquifire.
Also I took some shots of the bumper from under the hood, I hope these help. This is from my Sportfire again, so I am not sure if there is any differences to your Liquifire. I don't remember if there is, I no longer have my 83 Liquifire.
These are just my opinions, and may not be 100% correct, someone else may be able to shed more light on your questions.

Chuck,
If the spindles don't pan out, I have a very nice used set you can have for nothing.

Re: looking for ski spindles
Terre.........You are absolutly correct. I did some checking and that spindle i ordered was incorrect. I emailed seller to see if he had something different since he stated he had 4 total. Want to thank you for taking the time to do the pictures. These 80,s sleds are a learning curve for me. You answered all my questions. Thank You
Robb... Might just need them and i dont think your far from me.

What has happened to the world when Chuck is looking for later Liquifire parts?
