WTB KH Master Cylinder

Post by WinnipegStPaul9 »

When I hit the tree in January I broke the master cylinder on my CC. A very good friend loaned me one in order to get the sled back together. I dinked around too long trying to buy one and now it's gone sooooooooo I would like to purchase a KH Master Cylinder if anyone has one they can spare.

Kenny, the handle broke off of the base (housing). What's needed to repair mine would be the housing. What I have that's good is the handle, piston, cap, brass fitting, handle bar mounting piece. Gene Ruder was very, very kind to loan me one and I need to replace it. I had one lined up but got busy and didn't get it bought. I am going to send you a PM.

What else would I need? Can I just use the master cylinder or do I have to replace the caliper too? Will my stainless brake line fit the Wilwood? Might be an option for me but for the friend that loaned me one I need to give him a KH.

I am not sure what the thread size is used in the master cylinders. But it may be a common size...??

Then you could just tread your SS line into the wilwood master cylinder and would be ready to go. You could use the leads from the Willwood for your brake light or keep the connections on your caliper.

Maybe someone knows if there is a difference between the thread sizes in the master cylinder.

I attached a couple of pics of what I have.

Let me know!

Hey DA,

I just found a Kelsey Hayes brake set up on VS. I know it's not the same one your sled had but it may work. I just thought I'd atleast let you know.

For Sale: One good used Kelsey-Hayes hydralic brake set-up. This is the last one I have. $45.00 plus shipping. Serious parties only!!!
Thanks
Andy

Here's another good one on ebay. It looks a little more similar to what you had. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NOS-KELS ... ccessories

Hope this helps out!

Don,
You should ask the seller to measure the handlebar mount. It may be metric and a different size than yours.

Would love to know what you are going to use to bring the color back...I soaked mine in "back to black" for a week and it didn't do a thing. Ideas?

You could always try painting it with some SEM plastic paint and some adhesion promoter. It usually holds up pretty well. Just a thought.
