i have sent a couple emails and had my brother drive by the place today and no one was around and he saw no signs of the sled. I am hoping they call me so i can maybe get it this weekend. But the 84 sportfire i was suppose to pick up was an 81 so hopefully it is what they say it is

I got a reply from the owner, and here is what he had to say:

"Hi Joe, the sled is in great shape, and runs great. the seat is ripped at the rear it has 3900 miles and am asking $1000.00 obo thanks for looking Bill."

If it's really in nice shape, that is a good price. Unfortunately, I he did not send any pic's. I would suggest going to see it in person if possable.

At $1000 bucks for that sled i,m just wondering how many guys contacted the seller and told them they had an ultra rare sled and they are selling way to cheap. All the pricing experts come out of there closets. It happens all the time. Willing to bet they would of been happy to get $100 and get it out of there garage.

Stayed "Stealth". then all of us would have missed it so i posted it so you guys could have it .I my self would have drove to it and maybe got it for a 100$ but i said to my self i will let the jd guys have the sled because i no some one would like it for there collation i gess i will go buy it next time and then sell it to the you jd guys.

Sorry Davedude, I didn't mean that it shouldn't be posted here. Sure understand after re-reading why you would think that though.

My thoughts are that people who have no intentions of buying it are e-mailing and calling, telling them what they have and therefore running the price up.

Again, sorry about the "Tone" of my post, ceratinly alot of great finds have come from these type of posts, and are a great value to us lookers.

Dave.... We were not ripping you but were ripping the guys as Bob stated. Guys just calling up with no intention of buying the sled at all and giving the seller false hopes. I,m sure the seller was informed about how many were made and that this was Deeres last production sled and a collecter among JD guys ETC. Certain people just like to here themselves talk and the Guy selling could care less but just wants more money for it now.

We are all looking for a deal and thats just part of the fun.
