Thanks Brian and Don for posting a few pictures of the setup at Baraboo. I had an enjoyable time meeting all of you, waxing wise, and talking sleds.

In that photo Don took of my father, you'll note a yellow chair in the back ground. Don was having trouble keeping tabs on that, as it seemed to keep walking off. Must be a comfortable chair!

Or was it the cheesey-poofs the chair was strategically guarding?

A few last thoughts on this show:

My Uncle is a tractor collector, and a member of the Steam and Gas Club. He had been trying to get me to commit our group to bringing sleds for this years show, ( as Deere would be the featured make ) for about four years.

Joe Wanie really stepped up to the plate and helped me out on this. He brought sleds, memorabilia, photos, and he stayed on the grounds over the weekend. The group was well represented by Joe, Pat, and Don's efforts, WELL DONE!
Joe gets the credit for putting it all together.

I believe that 2013 will be the 50th anniversary of the Steam and Gas Show. The featured equipment for that show will be "Machines made in Wisconsin". My understanding is that we have been invited back for that show. I'll see the Uncle this weekend, I suspect I'll be hearing more about it then.

I made a trade with JDXRobin (Robin Stromberg) and was able to meet him as well. He made the 3-4 hour trip down from the Twin Cities. It was great to meet him.

It was a great trip!, I wish I would have been able to stay a little longer.
The set-up of sleds and memorabilia was impressive, and Joe...that 1980 Liquifire was one of my favorites...it just looked right.
Brian, sorry I missed you, it was a great show.
I have to mention one thing...without a doubt you Wisconsin guys really do have the best cheese curds (right Don?)!

I had a great time and and enjoyed the whole entire weekend. Great seeing you guys! One of the comments I heard a number of times was "I didn't know they made snowmobiles"! That surprised me the most. Just last night I finally put all 8 of the sleds I showed in Baraboo and this last weekend at the 100th anniversary in Horicon to bed for a while. It is a lot of work doing this but I find great enjoyment meeting people and talking about John Deere snowmobiles. Looking forward to the next big
get together!

Happy Trails
Joe
