78 Liquifire 440 Survivor For Sale

Post by WinnipegStPaul9 »

A few days ago I purchased a 1978 Liquifire 440 that is a true "survivor". It's obvious that it has sat inside for all of its life. My original intent was to restore it but after looking at it, it doesn't need restored!!!. As you can see by my list, this would be a sled for the guy/gal that does not like to deal with body/cosmetic parts but do like to do mechanical work.
S/N J44LG081733M
Here are the good points of the sled:
Hood with perfect grille
Belly pan
Skis
Track
Suspension
Temp Guage
Snow Flap still has yellow deer
Even the original reflectors are in place

Bad Points:
Engine is stuck
Hood has a scratch on the left side in the rear decal
Needs a good windshield
Needs a new gas cap/guage
Seat??? Could be recovered or left alone, small areas of cover missing.

Here are some pictures of the sled

I feel that even with the stuck engine this sled is worth $600.00 so for now that's a firm price.

Thanks,

Guys I believe the sled is sold, however if it isn't I need to tell you that Bob got the engine running this morning so there will be a price adjustment. I'll keep everyone posted.

We went from locked up to running in a matter of 16 hours? Interesting...

OK, OK. Here is where we are at mechanical wise. Besides the fact that I am a 2 cycle engine Elbert Einstein. lol

A little diesel fuel soak over 2 nights, a little hands on twist of the clutch and wha-la, freedom. No unnecessary torque or anything.

Checked compression, 125 each side, dead equal, no BS. Good Spark-Check. No throttle movement- Removed both slides and cleaned them up, again-success.

Replaces all fuel lines and filter, replaced interior tank fuel line, primed the fuel lines and pulled, pulled, pulled...........................Running engine!!! Again-NO BS.

Some fine tuning still needed.

I just wish Rainville could afford me, he would have beat Otte by 25 ft.

Also, I am going to throw in the Cassette Tape- Hard Rock Essentials The "70's". I found it in the glovebox of this sled.

For Kenny-A cassette is the thing that came after the Reel-to Reel tape. No, not the 8Track, but right after that.
