HELP!!!!!

Post by The S Man »

Ok I have been out of the loop for a few years.... Just got re-married and am getting going again with life, the problem is I need a motor mount for my 82 liquifire for a triple. I know someone on here has done it forgive me as it has been a long few years and alot of heart ache. I am doing this build to sooth my soul so to speak. I have a liquifire with a independant front end I have had for over ten years with no motor. I also have my drag SLP triple I want to put in it. Please can someone help me with a motor mount for this application. I can make the mount, don't need a mount but it would be nice if some one had one all thought out already.
I used to grass drag and am a machinist of 25 years but time and personal problems have pleaged my life for the last ten years. I am not asking for a hand out but a helping hand in getting this going again. i still have several jd sleds just weird problems in life that I never thoguht of came about. Lets just say you never really know anybody till you have lived with them for over ten years.. A little bitter?...........YES!!!!!!
Anyway Life is great again I have the women I should have had from the start and life it is a go again! I may even get my 295 out that hasn't seen the light of day for over ten years, I managed to keep that and a few other things.
Sorry it has been so long for me but things happen in life that we don't ever think about or even dream of happening. It makes you remember that we all are human and we all are really dancing on the razor's edge.....
Anyway, any help would be greatly welcomed...

Ron

Ron,

I can be of no help, but I might have a few pic's of JRC's old "Triple Fire" to send you. Welcome back buddy.

Ron, sorry I can't help either, but I'm glad to hear things are looking up for you, and it's awesome you're still here.

Ron also submitted one of the first restorations I ever posted on JDsleds, and it was of that 295/s he still has, which also inspired me to get one.

Ron, Chris & I have side lined my 650 triple/w struts for the year because of Chaparral being the featured sled at Waconia this next Jan. We've got 5 Chap racers to get together for that.. But we were looking at using some sort of a Polaris mount to keep the motor low in the front pan of the Liquifire, I'm not sure if Chris ever thought it out yet though??
You might email him to see.. Chris Dotzler, dotzlerenterprises@frontier.com

It is a 656 SLP motor. It has 44mm carbs, and is completely race ported, even the crankcase is ported it dynoed at 220 horse. I ran this moto in my open mod grass drag sled a few years ago. I still had it laying around so I thought I would put it in something and put it to use!

Ron welcome back! I'm sure you don't remember me, but you were someone to look up to back when I first got into JD sleds (and this awesome website) in the year 2000. I was a "kid" then so buying a 295/s was out of my price range but your resto was always inspiration for my projects.

Good luck with the triple project... no fab. experience here
