:sled: this weekend i aquired a KEC-295RS/2 out of a john deere. does any body know what sled it could have came out of? :needsnow:

well its missing a piston and dont know if it turns over (its been siting for years) what would it be worth

it turns over (tough) one jug and head are just siting on the studs. exhaust and intake are gone and so is the fan shroud are gone other thatn that it looks to be compleate

Probably not what you want to hear but I doubt you could find the parts to "restore" this engine. You could do yourself a favor and someone else by selling what you have to another 295/S enthusiast. No, not me!! Just giving advice even though it wasn't asked for.

Thanks DA. I'm looking for 295/s parts like several of us. Sounds like KamJD600 found one just like mine. I should check the shop and see if it is still there...lol

It wouldn't hurt to see if you can find out where the rest of the sled is. 295RS/2 motor came out of a 1974 John Deere 295/S. The 295/S was John Deeres first factory built race sled. You can find out more about them in the models section on the home page. There are plenty of us looking for parts for the 295/S. I am sure someone can use this motor and or parts of it.

the guy i got the motor from told me that he blew up the so ither he put a 340 im it, or parted it out he had two deeres at the time and he cant witch one he did what too... but if any one is intrested im the motor shoot me an offer...
