Track drivers needed

Post by 400brian »

Looking for some really good used, or preferably NOS track drivers for a 72-73.

These would be the white ones. AM52078

I thought mine were in really good shape, very little apparent wear for 2500 miles. However, closer inspection showed that both drivers are cracked. The attached photo is of the better of the two, the other is almost cracked in half.

Talk to me.

Hey Brian I think they all do that cause I ordered a set of NOS just like those for my Scorpion and they looked just like that when I got them . Not sure other than try to get a set of black ones if your gonna put a lot of miles on it if not then I think they would be fine . Just my thoughts . :think: :beers;

It may be that after 40 years the material has contracted and cracked on its own.

Upgrading to the larger dia. shaft and the black drivers is an option. I'm being a bit of a purist on this sled, I have an NOS track, and an NOS drive shaft, so an NOS set of drivers seems logical.

I'll have to look. Mine is a M63000, and its the correct Gates Poly track. Deere also used a Goodyear Pathfinder track on the 300 and 73 X4. It has more of a waffle pattern, and the number on it is M64362

I have one of those NOS tracks that is very thick compaired to the usual one.
Is that what you have too?

The drivers have been reproduced in black with uptodate plastics. CPC has them.
NOS white ones are usually found cracked.

These Scorpion drivers are being sold on ebay. 1" bore.

They are not original looking, but it was a compromise in favor of function over originality.

Brian,

The original white drivers were made by Gates. Is there a name on the Scorpion drivers?
