JD Leaf springs

Post by NorOnt_JD »

Hey Guys,

I am new to John Deere Sleds and just picked up a 1980 Liquifire to play with and eventually the plan is to do a full restoration on it.

I have managed to find most of the parts that I need to get it back running but having trouble finding leaf springs for it. The previous owner had the machine sitting on the concrete floor in his garage and from years on melting snow and salt the skis are rotten and the leafs are not in that great of shape either.

I have new skis coming and just trying to find out where I can find the leafs, any help or direction would be greatly appreciated, unfortuanetly there are no salvage yards in my area.

I put up a wanted ad in the classifieds as well.

Thanks

Try the Antique and Classic Snowmobile Club of Canada site as well.
You may find someone close to you that may have a set.
They shouldn't be to hard to find. How far north are you?

Thanks, I hope to find a set.

We only have about 6inches right now, its been mild although the temps are dropping it was -18C this morning so the truck said on the way to work. We need the low temps to get the lakes to freeze so we can start doing some good riding.
